About this act:

The P2B Regulation aims to create a fair, predictable and trustworthy online business environment in order to ensure fair competition in the internal market. The Regulation has been in force since 12 July 2020 and applies to online intermediation services and online search engines that enable commercial platform users to communicate with customers and offer their services. The legitimate interests of commercial users are to be protected and abuse of power prevented in order to ensure orderly and fair competition. In addition to stricter framework conditions for the drafting of general terms and conditions, the parameters for the ranking system must be disclosed and measures to promote out-of-court dispute resolution must be taken.

THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and in particular Article 114 thereof,

Having regard to the proposal from the European Commission,

After transmission of the draft legislative act to the national parliaments,

Having regard to the opinion of the European Economic and Social Committee1,

After consulting the Committee of the Regions,

Acting in accordance with the ordinary legislative procedure2,
